Some shoppers add a kurta to the cart, look at M and L, and close the tab. Nothing is wrong with the price or the checkout. They just are not sure the size will fit, and no one is there to ask. A reminder that says “you left something behind” does not touch that doubt. An abandoned cart alone also does not prove size was the reason: they may have been interrupted or still comparing.
A size doubt is a question, not an objection
The follow-up should invite the question without assuming the answer. It can name the item left behind and ask whether a size question is holding the order up. It should not claim to know why they left or invent urgency. The note on the first abandoned-cart message explains why the actual items, one easy question and a polite way out beat a loud offer, and the piece on the shipping-fee step applies the same idea to a different doubt.
The timing note on when the first message should go out still applies: the question lands better while the shopper still remembers the product.
A sample exchange for a size doubt
Suppose Saanvi Studio’s illustrative kurta is ₹1,299 and the shopper left on the size choice. If she opted in, the message could say: “Hi Priya, the kurta is still in your Saanvi Studio cart. Still deciding on the size? Ask us here.” If she replies “is M ok for 38 chest?”, the answer must come from the store’s real size guide for that product, or from a person.
If the guide does not settle it, the honest answer is a handoff. A guessed fit that leads to a return costs more than a short wait. The store should not promise free exchanges or sizing results its own policy does not provide.

What Hextor builds behind the reply
Hextor Labs’ cart recovery flow sends a WhatsApp after a delay the store chooses, in its voice, with the items still in the cart. A question can go to an AI agent using live product and order data, with a handoff to a person when the answer is uncertain. The flow runs in the store’s own accounts.
To see how your store could answer size questions at the moment shoppers hesitate, tap the “Ask anything” WhatsApp button and tell Hextor where shoppers drop off. You can also book the free 30-minute audit from the site.
